Sahara nomad, local guide and founder of Io Marocco. Born and raised among the Merzouga dunes, today I share my land with travelers from all over the world.
I was born in the desert, in a small village called Mirdani, near Merzouga. When I was 7 years old I moved to Merzouga to study, where I lived for about 8 years.
My family later moved to Taboumyate, a ksar near Merzouga. There I started working in the desert, accompanying travelers to admire the sunrise and sunset among the Sahara dunes.
Thanks to this experience I learned several languages: French, Spanish, Italian and some English, in addition to my native Berber and Arabic.
In 2012 I founded Io Marocco, a family business that today offers private tours and authentic experiences throughout Morocco. We depart from Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Tangier and Agadir.
